The organisations that make up AKG UK have collectively been supporting people and communities across the UK for more than 30 years, bringing together decades of experience across employment, learning, health and behaviour change.
Today, that experience sits behind a simple shared purpose: helping people, communities and local economies to thrive.
Our story in the UK has been shaped by bringing together specialist organisations with different areas of expertise, creating a more joined-up approach to helping people enter work, progress in work and build more stable, independent lives.
Our UK roots stretch back to 2003, when Learn Plus Us was founded as a specialist education and training provider. In 2020, Learn Plus Us joined AKG, bringing its established expertise in education, apprenticeships and skills into the group.
That same year, AKG and UK charity Catch22 formed Jobs 22, combining their experience to create a new employment services provider. Jobs 22 went on to secure a major role delivering the Department for Work and Pensions’ Restart Scheme across East Central England from 2021.
As our work in the UK grew, so did the breadth of support we could provide. Healthfind was launched in 2022, adding specialist support for people experiencing health-related barriers to work. During this period, our careers services also expanded, with delivery across the East of England and later the East Midlands.
In 2023, Intuitive Thinking Skills joined the group, bringing with it almost three decades of experience in behaviour change, lived experience and peer-led support. This strengthened our ability to work with people facing complex barriers and broadened our expertise across employment, health, wellbeing and community services.
Our UK services continued to develop through 2024, with new locally commissioned programmes and increasingly integrated ways of working across our specialist teams.
In June 2025, Jobs 22, Healthfind and Learn Plus Us came together under one unified identity as AKG UK. Intuitive Thinking Skills retains its own specialist identity as part of the AKG group, while complementing and strengthening our wider offer.
Today, our UK offer brings together four specialist areas: AKG Employment, AKG Learning, AKG Health and Intuitive Thinking Skills.
Together, they allow us to connect employment, skills, health and behaviour change support around the needs of the individual – recognising that people’s lives rarely fit neatly into a single service or intervention.
We work alongside local authorities, combined authorities, government departments, employers, VCSE organisations and specialist partners to design and deliver services rooted in local need.
Partnership is central to how we work. Rather than assuming one organisation has all the answers, we bring together the right combination of local knowledge, specialist expertise and employment, skills, health and behaviour change support for each community.
Today, we support thousands of people each year across England and Wales through a growing portfolio of public sector contracts and partnerships.
Our organisation may look very different from where our UK story began more than 20 years ago, but the principle behind our work has remained consistent: support works best when it is personal, practical, connected and built around the needs of people and places.
