AKG UK has joined the Government’s Keep Britain Working Vanguard initiative, a national employer-led movement focused on improving workplace health, wellbeing and inclusion across the UK.
The initiative was created in response to rising levels of economic inactivity linked to ill-health and disability, with millions of people across the UK currently out of work due to long-term health conditions.
Keep Britain Working brings together employers, health organisations and regional partners to help develop practical ways to support people to stay healthy, remain in work and access the support they need throughout their working lives.
As part of the initiative, AKG is proudly being part of a group of employers helping shape and share best practice around prevention, wellbeing, inclusion and return-to-work support, helping influence future workplace health approaches across the UK.
Laura Gibbon, People and Culture Director at AKG, said:
“Work has an important role to play in people’s wellbeing, confidence and sense of connection, and employers have a responsibility to create environments where people feel supported to thrive.
By joining the Keep Britain Working Vanguard initiative, we have an opportunity to learn from others, contribute our own experiences and continue strengthening the support we provide to colleagues across AKG.
We’re proud to be part of a national movement focused on building healthier, more inclusive workplaces for the future.”
The Keep Britain Working Vanguard initiative currently includes more than 150 organisations from across the public and private sectors, all working together to develop practical, evidence-led approaches to workplace health and inclusion.
