AKG was proud to support Baby Basics Northampton as the charity celebrated the delivery of its 3,500th moses basket starter pack for families across Northamptonshire.
As part of the milestone, members of the AKG Restart team volunteered with Baby Basics Northampton, helping to create safe sleeping spaces and organise essential items for families in need. During the volunteering session, the team created four additional safe places for babies to sleep and supported the preparation and organisation of many more essential bundles.
Baby Basics Northampton provides “sanctuary in a basket” starter packs containing over 60 essential items for new parents and babies, including clothing, hygiene products and safe sleeping essentials. The charity currently supports around 1 in 16 babies born across Northamptonshire.
The milestone pack was prepared for a family supported through AKG Restart, reflecting the close partnership between both organisations and a shared commitment to supporting individuals and families within local communities.
The volunteering day highlighted the importance of collaboration between charities, employability services and local organisations to ensure people receive practical support when they need it most.
Sabrina Oakey, CEO and Co-Founder of Baby Basics Northampton, described the milestone as representing “3,500 nights of safe sleep for babies who might otherwise have had nowhere to lay their heads.”
