Intuitive Thinking Skills (ITS) part of AKG, has been appointed to deliver two contracts under the Government’s Connect to Work programme, bringing tailored employment support to people across Leicestershire and Rutland who face barriers to finding and sustaining work.
Commissioned by Leicester City Council, Connect to Work is a voluntary supported employment programme funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). It is designed to help disabled people, people with health conditions and those experiencing complex barriers to move into sustainable employment through personalised support.
The programme in Leicestershire and Rutland will be delivered by two specialist providers, bringing together complementary expertise and established approaches to supported employment and vocational training.
A personalised approach to employment
ITS will be delivering Individual Placement and Support (IPS), in partnership with Twin Employment & Training. Together, the providers will work with participants, employers and local partners to help people overcome barriers, move into work and sustain employment.
This approach is designed to help people build confidence, remain in work and develop long-term careers, with support tailored to individual circumstances and aspirations.
Through IPS, ITS alongside trusted partner Standguide will provide specialist employment support based on the principle that people should be supported to move towards employment according to their own goals and aspirations, rather than having to complete lengthy preparation before accessing the workplace.

For ITS, the programme builds on an established track record of delivering employability, skills and vocational training programmes.
