Kindred has strengthened its partnership with AKG and its commitment to inclusive recruitment by donating Apprenticeship Levy funding to support new training and development opportunities within the education sector.
Representatives from AKG and Kindred came together on 15 September to formally sign the agreement and discuss how the two organisations can continue creating opportunities through apprenticeships and inclusive recruitment.
Turning unused Levy into opportunity
Employers that pay the Apprenticeship Levy can use their funds to develop their own workforce or transfer available funding to support apprenticeship training elsewhere.
For organisations facing financial pressures, transferred Levy funding can make valuable staff development possible without placing further pressure on existing training budgets. It also gives Levy-paying employers an opportunity to direct their available funding towards sectors and communities that reflect their values.
Kindred works primarily within the education sector and has chosen to use its Levy funding to support development within that community.
Lisa Nixon, Employer Engagement Director at AKG, said:

Their support allows us to work with businesses that may want to take on apprentices but don’t have the budget to make that investment themselves. It removes some of the financial pressure and opens up opportunities that otherwise might not be possible.

A partnership built around shared values
The Levy donation builds on an established relationship between AKG and Kindred, with both organisations committed to creating opportunities and supporting people into sustainable employment.
